Grade 1 is the softest and most ductile of all titanium grades due to its tightly restricted oxygen and iron content. While Grade 2 offers a better balance of strength, Grade 1 is selected when maximum cold formability, deep drawing, or impact toughness is required, without sacrificing any of titanium's exceptional corrosion resistance.
In unalloyed titanium, trace amounts of Oxygen and Iron dramatically increase tensile strength while decreasing ductility. By strictly capping Oxygen at 0.18% and Iron at 0.20%, this certificate proves the material will behave reliably during extreme cold-heading and forming operations.
