INCONEL 718 STUDS & THREADED RODS - UNS N07718
■ Component Definitions (ASME B18.31.2)
- Continuous Thread Studs ("All-Thread"): Threaded from end to end. The most common fastener for flanged connections.
- Tap-End Studs: Threads on both ends with an unthreaded center. The short end (Tap End) features a Class 3-fit designed to be permanently driven into a tapped hole.
- Double-End Studs: Threads of equal or unequal length on both ends with an unthreaded center. Designed to clamp components between two nuts (neither end is an interference fit).

■ Stud-Specific Technical Specifications
| MATERIAL & SPECIFICATIONS |
Inconel 718 (UNS N07718).
- ASTM A1014: High-temperature precipitation-hardening bolting standard.
- ASTM B637: Raw forging stock standard.
|
| MECHANICAL INTEGRITY (ASTM A1014) |
- Tensile Strength: Min 185 ksi (1275 MPa) @ RT; 145 ksi (1000 MPa) @ 1200°F.
- Yield Strength: Min 150 ksi (1035 MPa) @ RT; 125 ksi (860 MPa) @ 1200°F.
- Stress Rupture: Survives 100,000 psi continuous load at 1200°F for a minimum of 23 hours.
|
| ENGINEERING ADVANTAGE OVER BOLTS |
Studs allow for uniform tensioning from both ends (highly advantageous for hydraulic tensioning equipment in subsea manifolds), actively eliminating torsional stress in the fastener body during assembly. |
