Ananka Fasteners is a global leader in the manufacturing and supply of ASTM A193 Grade B8T and B8TA Fasteners. Forged from AISI 321 austenitic stainless steel (UNS S32100), these fasteners represent a critical solution for high-temperature engineering. The defining metallurgical feature of Grade B8T is its stabilization with Titanium, specifically engineered to prevent intergranular corrosion when the fastener is exposed to the critical "sensitization" temperature range of 425°C to 815°C (800°F to 1500°F).
While Grade B8T requires the raw material to be carbide solution treated, the B8TA designation demands post-fabrication annealing. This final thermal cycle erases all residual cold-working stresses induced by threading, capping the hardness at a strictly enforced 90 HRB. This makes B8TA the premier choice for extreme thermal cycling, chemical refineries, and aerospace exhaust manifolds. All our B8T/B8TA studs, heavy hex bolts, and threaded rods are guaranteed by EN 10204 Type 3.1 Material Test Certificates (MTC).
For lead piping engineers, thermal dynamics specialists, and NACE compliance auditors requiring empirical high-temperature creep resistance data and intergranular corrosion test profiles for ASTM A193 B8T/B8TA, the complete technical datasheet is available via our secure portal.
Contains empirical data for stress simulations, thermal expansion coefficients, and ASTM A262 Practice E corrosion resistance audits. Corporate credentials required.
⬇ ACCESS SECURE DATASHEET PORTALBecause the defining characteristic of B8T/B8TA (Titanium stabilization) is a microstructural chemical balance, the EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificate is the only legal proof of component viability. Ananka Fasteners’ MTCs for B8T explicitly detail:

Standard ASTM A193 B8 (SS 304) is an excellent fastener until it is exposed to continuous high temperatures. Between 425°C and 815°C, standard austenitic steel undergoes "sensitization." The internal Carbon aggressively bonds with Chromium, forming Chromium Carbides at the grain boundaries. This depletes the chromium from the surrounding metal, destroying the passive oxide layer and causing severe intergranular corrosion.
By specifying Grade B8T (SS 321), engineers introduce Titanium into the matrix. Titanium has a vastly higher affinity for carbon than chromium does. At high temperatures, Titanium Carbides form instead, leaving the Chromium entirely free to remain uniformly distributed and actively defend the fastener against oxidation and corrosive attack. This makes B8T the undisputed choice for prolonged high-temperature service like refinery cracking units and thermal exhaust systems.
