We confirm that above mentioned Items was Manufactured, Sampled, Tested and Inspected in accordance with the subjected Customer's Purchase Order and as applicable Drawings, Material Specifications, Codes & Standards and the results of the items have been determined to meet the users' requirements.
In the metric property class system, the first number "8" indicates a nominal tensile strength of 800 MPa (8 x 100). The second number ".8" indicates that the yield strength is 80% of the nominal tensile strength. As verified in the mechanical properties section, these bolts achieve a minimum tensile strength of 800 MPa and a minimum yield strength of 640 MPa.
To reach high strength characteristics uniformly, Class 8.8 fasteners must be manufactured from medium carbon steel and subsequently quenched and tempered. ISO 898-1 requires a minimum tempering temperature of 425°C, ensuring the material retains sufficient ductility (minimum 12% elongation) for heavy structural applications.
Class 8.8 is the most common high-strength metric fastener grade. It is the go-to standard for heavy machinery, automotive assemblies, structural steel connections, and general mechanical engineering applications where a reliable balance of high tensile strength and ductility is required.
