INCONEL 625 STUDS & THREADED RODS - UNS N06625
■ Component Definitions
- Stud Bolts: Fully threaded cylindrical fasteners typically < 12 inches in length. Engineered for ASME B16.5 pressure-sealed flange assemblies, they receive a nut on both ends, eliminating torsional stress on the fastener body.
- Threaded Rods: Fully threaded fasteners ("all-thread") measuring 12 inches or longer. Often supplied in 1, 2, or 3-meter lengths for on-site custom cutting and adjustable tensioning.
- Tap-End & Double-End Studs: Specialized studs with an unthreaded center shank. Tap-end studs feature a shorter engagement end designed to be permanently tapped into a machined hole.

Note: Standard imperial stud bolts utilize UN or UNC thread pitches up to 1-inch diameters. Diameters exceeding 1 inch frequently switch to the 8UN (8 threads per inch) standard for high-pressure stability.

■ Assembly & Installation Best Practices
| Material Homogeneity |
Inconel 625 studs and threaded rods must be mated with matching Inconel 625 heavy hex nuts and washers. This prevents galvanic corrosion and ensures an equal coefficient of thermal expansion across the high-pressure joint. |
| Galling Prevention |
Threaded rods and studs are highly susceptible to thread galling (cold welding). They must be generously lubricated with a high-temperature, anti-seize compound before nuts are torqued. |
| Manufacturing Standards |
Manufactured from raw bar stock governed by ASTM B446 and finished/certified under ASTM F468. |
