Monel 400 is exceptionally susceptible to thread galling (cold-welding) due to its high ductility. Do not use nickel-based anti-seize. Boundary lubrication must be achieved utilizing Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS₂) or PTFE-based compounds to alter the friction coefficient and prevent joint destruction during assembly.
