What's Inside This Titanium Grade 2 MTC Certificate

This sample mill test certificate mirrors the rigorous QA documentation package standard for the "workhorse" of the titanium industry. Grade 2 fasteners are utilized across chemical processing, desalination, marine, and medical applications due to their exceptional corrosion resistance and excellent formability.

  • Full Traceability: Certified with TC No.: S74/26-XX and corresponding ASTM B348 specifications for Commercially Pure (CP) Titanium rod and bar.
  • Commercially Pure Chemistry: Detailed breakdowns verifying the unalloyed Titanium balance and strict controls over Oxygen (O) and Iron (Fe), which dictate the precise strength and ductility levels distinguishing Grade 2 from Grades 1, 3, and 4.
  • Corrosion Immunity: Confirms the metallurgy required to maintain a highly stable, continuous, and protective oxide film, rendering it virtually immune to attack in seawater, wet chlorine, and organic acids.
  • Mechanical Properties (Annealed): Comprehensive reporting of Tensile Strength (420.50 MPa), Yield Strength (315.20 MPa), Elongation (25.50%), and Hardness (165 HB), demonstrating the perfect balance of moderate strength and high ductility.
  • Quality Compliance: 100% visual inspection carried out and verified free from defects and radioactive contamination.

Technical FAQs — Titanium Grade 2 MTC Certificate

Why is Titanium Grade 2 the "Workhorse" of the industry?

Titanium Grade 2 is Commercially Pure (CP) titanium that offers the best overall balance of traits among the unalloyed grades. It provides moderate strength, excellent cold formability and ductility, and outstanding resistance to corrosion in highly oxidizing environments (like seawater, wet chlorine, and nitric acid). It is the most widely used titanium grade for industrial applications.

Why are Interstitial Elements (O, Fe, N, C) so important on this MTC?

Because Titanium Grade 2 is unalloyed, its mechanical strength is entirely determined by its interstitial elements—primarily Oxygen and Iron. Tight controls over these trace amounts dictate the difference between Grade 1 (softest/most ductile), Grade 2 (balanced), and Grades 3/4 (higher strength/lower ductility). The MTC proves the precise chemistry required to hit Grade 2 mechanical targets.

Are the materials free from radioactive contamination?

Yes, the document strictly states that the material is free from radioactive contamination and undergoes a 100% visual inspection to ensure it is free from defects.
