Uses of Inconel Fasteners
Inconel is a nickel-chromium superalloy with an austenitic structure. It was produced in the 1940s by Wiggin Alloys for use in the Whittle engine, and it is now a generic term for the class of alloys. Inconel Fasteners are commonly used in cryogenic tanks and wellhead parts. Inconel 690 was created with a low cobalt content and a high chromium content for use in nuclear applications.
